At the Google I/O conference this year, one of the big launches out of all was Android 4.1 Jelly Bean which is the most recent by Google. The mobile OS is been improved a lot with some major advancements. To count some, the Siri like voice assistant, Google Now, Performance improvements and much more. You can find full features list of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean from here. The UI remains same as Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich but some minor changes are noticed and one of them is the new lock screen.
How to get Android 4.1 Jelly bean Lock screen on all Android devices
The new lock screen in Android 4.1 Jelly Bean is not completely different but has a circle full of dots and else remains the same. You can see it in the screenshot below how the lock screen looks. And if you wish to get the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean lock screen on your Android device then there is an app available in Google Play store named “Holo Locker”. This is the new one to arrive in the Play store and does a very simple job of adding Android 4.1 Jelly Bean lock screen to the previous versions of Android.
Holo Locker is compatible with Android 2.2 and above and works well. Though there are not much of functions to give you a premium like experience. It’s a small app of size 169KB. The settings menu of Holo locker comes with options to enable and disable Holo Locker in case you want to get back to your original lock Screen. One problem I noticed with Holo locker while using it on my tab is that when Holo locker is enabled the Lock Screen does not function with auto rotate. This means lock screen does not rotate to assigned angle and get stuck to vertical position. Not a big problem though, we hope this will be fixed with the next update.
In all if you wish to get Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Lock Screen on your Android device which does not run 4.1 JB then Holo Locker is the app for you. It is available in the Google Play store for free and can be downloaded right away. Give it a try and do let us know how it works for you.
