Well I hope you remember SiriPort, yes the alternative to Siri we covered a while ago. SiriPort 5.1.1- 3 was the latest version from the developers which is compatible with iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3G and iPod Touch 4G. And now the again the developers have pulled out a new version of SiriPort which is now finally compatible with all the variants of iPad’s. That means SiriPort 5.2-1 is the version which you need to install in order to get functional Siri on your iPad 1, iPad 2 and the new iPad/iPad 3.

SiriPort-iconThis new version is now available for download from the SiriPort Repo and can be installed easily. You would need SiriPort Original installed. For the new iPad/iPad 3 you do not need to catch a key certificate or install a certificate while for iPad 1 and iPad 2, Key certificate needs to be installed. We will tell you how to install the certificate or catch a certificate in the procedure below. So first I am going to show you the procedure to install SiriPort Original 5.2-1 on the new iPad/ iPad 3.

How to install SiriPort (Original) 5.2-1 on the new iPad/iPad 3

  1. You need to have a Jailbroken iPad 3 running iOS 5.1 or 5.1.1. You can find how to Jailbreak it using Absinthe here.
  2. Install SiriPort (Original) 5.2-1 from repo.siriport.ru.
  3. Now reboot your device.
  4. Now go to Settings-> General-> Siri and turn Siri On.
  5. Now go to Settings-> SiriPort .Ru Origibal.
  6. There will be two options (Apple and SiriPort). Select Apple in order to install or catch a Key. And then install the certificate.
  7. Reboot the device and check if Siri is activated by calling Siri. If not activated then again repeat the steps 5 and 6.
  8. Follow the steps until Siri is activated.

How to install SiriPort (Original) 5.2-1 on first gen iPad/iPad 1 and iPad 2

  1. Again Jailbreak is needed. Above link also contain the guide to jailbreak iPad 1 and iPad 2 using Absinthe.
  2. Install SiriPort (Original) 5.2-1 from repo.siriport.ru.
  3. Now reboot your device.
  4. Now go to Settings-> General-> Siri and turn Siri On.
  5. Now go to Settings-> SiriPort .Ru Original.
  6. There will be two options (Apple and SiriPort). Select SiriPort in order to install or catch a Key. And then install the certificate.
  7. Reboot the device and check if Siri is activated by calling Siri. If not activated then again repeat the steps 5 and 6.
  8. Follow the steps until Siri is activated.

Now here you can see the only difference between both the guides is that in iPad 3 you select the Apple server to get the key and in iPad 1 and iPad 2 you need to select SiriPort server. This is the only difference and the procedure is same. So I hope you have now understood how to install Siri on your iPad 1, iPad 2 and the new iPad/iPad using SiriPort (Original) 5.2-1.

Remember this version is only for iPad variants and not for iPhone and iPod Touch. SiriPort 5.1.1-3 is the version you need to get Siri on your iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod Touch 3G and iPod Touch 4G. You can get more information from here.

And also I would like to recommend to those new iPad users not to install SiriPort since the coming version of iOS which is iOS 6 will be bringing Siri officially to the new iPad. You can wait for some time and get it officially and enjoy the Siri power to the fullest. But users of iPad 1 and iPad 2 can grab the SiriPort right away because there will be no place for them to get Siri with iOS 6. You can check more details and features of iOS 6 to know more about it.
