iSHSHit has been finally updated to version 1.0.14 which allows users to save SHSH blobs for the iOS 5.1 firmware. The SHSH blob is crucially important for those users who wish to downgrade their iOS firmware when they update their iOS to a non-jailbreakable firmware. The iSHSHit ver 1.0.14 will not restore the SHSH blob but it will just save it locally on your device.
iSHSHit ver 1.0.14 uses the Cydia On File service to save SHSH blob after attaining directly from the Apple servers. Neither is it stored locally but you can also email it or transfer it to another storage device for a safe backup. There are also other tools available like the TinyUmbrella and the iFaith but iSHSHit is by fat the most easiest method to do so. Once you have the SHSH blob you can use other tools to restore the iOS firmware.
iSHSHit ver 1.0.14 can be installed only on the iOS 5.1 iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 1 and the iPod touch to save SHSH blob. You can later Jailbreak your device on iOS 5.1 using Redsn0w however the Jailbreak is Semi-Tethered. We highly recommend all our readers to save iOS 5.1 SHSH blob as developers have finally found many loopholes which can be used to give Untethered Jailbreak iOS 5.1 devices and if Apple pushes iOS 5.1.1 or iOS 5.2 which will than be non jailbreakable iOS firmwares.
You can download and install iSHSHit on your iOS 5.1 iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 1 and iPod touch from the default BigBoss repo in Cydia for free.
