ICS has been changed completely by the Google, to create simple, silky UI based on Hardware acceleration, this has also created nightmare for custom rom developer to created smooth and reliable rom.
But now there is good news for ICS developers as QUALCOMM has released official Adreno 2xx User-mode Android ICS Graphics Driver binaries for developers. The binaries have been tested with CAF release M8960AAAAANLYA1030 and support any android 2XX GPU on ICS.
It wasn’t easy for the modding community to convince the QUALCOMM, first a post was created on QUALCOMM developer forums on 26 Nov 2011, after 166 replies and more than 3 month later on 13 Mar 12 QUALCOMM uploaded the binaries.
Now since the binaries are available, it will be bit easy for developer to enable hardware acceleration on their custom roms. As of now the binaries are available for download for developers only. So you need to be developer to download the binaries. HIT the below download link if you are one.
