iWork.com, which was launched as a public beta version for the users of the iWork suite will be now shut down permanently by Apple. iWork.com allowed users of the iWork Suite to upload and share their files with other uses and is pretty much similar to the iCloud service which is now very much advertized by Apple.
iCloud the file sharing and backup suite allows you to not only share documents but also music, movies, images or any other important data. The fruit company has sent out mail to iWork.com users to download their files by July 31st and the site will be permanently taken down after that.
This move by Apple may not define the failure of the iWork.com but the success of the iCloud service. iCloud is deeply integrated into the operating systems of Apple. Not only its just a file sharing service but its state of art technology which provides immensely functionality. However we do not even expect anyone to complain about it as most of the iWork.com users have already migrated to iCloud.
