SMS is what we rely on when we are out of internet or data connection reach. Even in this world of 4G if you don’t have a data connection available, 4G is of no use. So what if you want to update some important status post in Google Plus and there is no connection? Here is the solution for that. You can simply type one SMS and send. Your Status Post will be updated.
In this tutorial I will show you how you can activate this service of updating Status Post via SMS. Just follow the simple steps given below.
1. First you need to add and activate a mobile number in Google Plus account. And to do that login to your Google Plus account and go to Google+ settings.
2. Now click on “Add phone number”. Select India and enter your mobile number. After this click on Send Verification code.
3. After you get the verification code, enter it in the verification code box and click confirm.
4. Now you can update your Google Plus Status post via SMS by sending your Status Post to +919222222222. Note this for Indian users only.
The stats post which you update is shared with public by default. And if you want to share it with a specific circle than use the shortcuts below. Add this shortcut at the end of your SMS.
@(circle name): Add the specific circle name with which you want to share your Status e.g.” Going to pub @friends”.
@public: Add this short code at the end to share it publicly e.g.” Good Morning”.
@extended: To share your status in extended circles. Add this short code e.g.” Nokia N8 for sale @extended”
SMS charges will be normal as the number is not special. So if you have free SMS service, there will be no charge for sending SMS. You can update your status for free.
