Few days ago we had reported about the release of the Untethered Jailbreak for A4 devices and eminent iPhone Dev Team member pod2g also recently tweeted that the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 will see Untethered Jailbreak by next week. While things are going very good for Jailbreakers, Apple is surely going to release iOS 5.0.2 soon to kill the exploit which allowed Untethered Jailbreak hence it is very crucially important for all iDevice users to save iOS 5.0.1 SHSH blobs for any future Jailbreak.
Saving SHSH blobs is very important for potential iPhone 4S and iPad 2 Jailbreaker’s as iOS 5.0.2 would mean that they wont be getting even tethered jailbreak for their device. While device based on A4 processors like iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 1 and iPod Touch can get Tethered Jailbreak based on limera1n’s exploit but that wont be untethered and its not that fun.
Currently iOS 5.0.1 is the only firmware which can get Untethered Jailbreak except iOS 4.3.3 hence we recommend all iDevice users to save iOS 5.0.1 SHSH blobs just to be safe.
How To Save iOS 5.0.1 SHSH Blobs For Future Jailbreak :
The famous iOS developer notcom has updated TinyUmbrella to version 5.10.04 , the update brings the support for saving SHSH blobs on the second build of iOS 5.0.1 for the iPhone 4S (9A406).
From TinyUmbrella blog :
Although we cannot exploit/restore iPhone 4S SHSHs we still should save them just in case. I’ve just updated TU to support iPhone 4S 5.0.1b “9A406″.
Now iDevice users can use TinyUmbrella 5.10.04 to save iOS 5.0.1 SHSH blobs.
