Barely a couple of days ago we had reported about the iOS 5.0.1 Beta 1 being being seeded to developers, just few moments ago Apple has seeded iOS 5.0.1 Beta 2 build 9A404 to developers only.
The news comes from Apple iOS Dev Center. The Beta 1 version was released just 2 days ago so we can say that this beta 2 update wont contain anything significant. Instead it fixes all the issues by the previous Beta version like :
- Multitasking gestures on the first generation iPad’s.
- It fixes the annoying battery drainage issue that iOS 5 had due to some time bug.
- Security enhancements.
- Improves Voice Recognition for Australian user’s.
- Other bug fixes.
We can expect more stability with this new release. Currently the iOS 5.0.1 Beta 2 is available for devs only so if you want to have on you need to have a developer account in Apple Developer Website which will cost $ 99 a year. Either you can head to the iOS Dev Center and download the IPSW file or you can get the update as OTA on your device from the Dev Center on devices running iOS 5.0.1 Beta 1 by opening the Settings app, tapping General and then Software Update.
iOS 5.0.1 beta 2 works for iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPod touch 3G/4G, original iPad and iPad 2. There is however no official statement as when the update will be up for public release but we can expect to be by December end.
