How To Root Samsung Galaxy Note On Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread :
Before we head to the Rooting method there are certain files necessary which you must have on your device. The list of the files along with the download links are mentioned below :
- Samsung Kies [Official Website]
- ODIN v1.85 [XDA Thread]
- Netchips ClockworkMod Recovery Kernel [Here]
- Superuser zip file [Here]
Once you have all these files we request our readers to charge their Samsung Galaxy Note battery to the fullest. The entire Rooting process just takes few minutes but consider this as a precautionary step.
Note : The method has been tried and tested on Samsung Galaxy Note. However readers can go ahead with their own risk. GeekPrison will not be held responsible for any loss of data or malfunctioning. As currently there is no method to reset the flash counter you will make your warranty null and void.
Step 1 : Install Samsung Kies on your PC which make sure that ODIN detects your Samsung Galaxy Note.
Step 2 : Launch ODIN v1.85.
Step 3 : Now switch off your device and hold your Volume Up and Volume Down keys to get your Galaxy Note into Download Mode. Plug your device to a computer using a U.S.B cable.
Step 4 : After connecting using U.S.B cable once ODIN recognizes your device just click on PDA button and navigate to netchip-cwm-update2.tar. Just click on Start.
The netchip-cwm-update2.tar will now be flashed to your device and it will reboot.
Step 5 : Once you have rebooted just press and hold Volume Up, the Home Button and the Power Button to get into the Recovery Mode.
Step 6 : By now you should have entered ClockworkMod (CWM) Recovery. Now just navigate to install zip from sd card > choose zip from sdcard > su-184.108.40.206-ef-signed.zip.
Step 7 : Just reboot your device by going to reboot system option from main menu.
