Ubislate7 aka Aakash Tablet is ready to launch in the market in December. Ubislate7 is commercial version of Aakash the world’s cheapest Tablet. The Ubislate7 will be coming with partnership with some operators. The commercial version has GPRS Connectivity, while the Aakash will have only Wi-Fi connectivity. Well of course with price of the Ubislate7 being higher, buyer gets some benefit.
The Ubislate7 will be priced at INR 3,000 and has received tremendous response with the pre bookings. According to Suneet Singh Tuli, CEO of Datawind the company has received Pre bookings of 108,000 units of tablets already and is expected to sell more than 100,000 units through operators. More over the Company is in talk with Reliance Telecom to roll out 4G version of Datawind Aakash Ubislate7 Tablet as soon as the service of 4G is available in India.
“We have had preliminary talks with Reliance Industries. It is possible to embed a TD-LTE (long-term evolution) chipset in the tablet for 4G coverage. To begin, this December we’ll launch a GPRS-enabled tablet at an MRP of Rs 2,999 with some Indian operators. Once 4G services are launched, we’ll have a product in that space too.”
