The state of root whether permanent or temporary will depend upon your bootloader. If your bootloader is locked than it is temporary and you will have to root the device each and every time you reboot and if your device’s bootloader is unlocked than this is a permanent root. How To Root HTC Amaze 4G On Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread :

Step 1: Download and Install all the HTC Drivers on your PC so the One Click Perm Root recognizes your HTC Amaze 4G when connected.
Step 2 : Connect your HTC Amaze 4G to your PC using the USB cable.
