Just moments ago at the event held at Hong Kong, Samsung and Google jointly announced the all new Galaxy Nexus and the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The all new mobile OS is touted to compete the very best in the industry like the iOS 5 by Apple. Expected to have many new and impressive features Android 4.0 does stand up to many expectations.
Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich aims at bridging the gap between HoneyComb and GingerBread. It is going to be available in both tablets and smartphone’s as well.
The iOS 5 bought almost 200 new features when released, so what does Ice Cream Sandwich has to offer. Lets take a look :
All new People App : This is something new that Google has done to your Contact’s. The users will have his own profile and the device will access contacts from Google+, Facebook, Twitter, etc. You can also define favorite contacts to place them at the homescreen or in folders for quick access.
Calender : The Calender sports a new look and also includes pinch-to-zoom for a more detailed interface.
Monitor Data Usage : For those who are on limited Data Plan’s this one is surely impressive. Users can now get detailed information about their Data Usage and also determine which App is using the bandwidth and how much.
Camera : The Camera App has been revamped alot for Ice Cream Sandwich. It boast’s image stabilization, improved autofocus, and integration with other apps for sending photos or instant upload to Google+. Also some new features are built-in face detection, panorama and time lapse modes, and on-the-fly photo retouching and enhancements.
Android Beam : A very secure NFC-powered sharing platform which can be used to share almost everything.
Roboto Font : First thing’s first. What Ice Cream Sandwich has you will first notice is the Roboto font which according to Google is dual nature. Having mechanical skeleton and also forms are geometric.
Landscape Controls : The basic buttons disappear while watching video or in the wide screen mode.
Flexible Widgets : The Widgets Ice Cream Sandwich boasts are highky customizable. Widget’s now occupy different space in the App Drawer for it. According to Google they are resizable and more robust

Notification’s : Ice Cream Sandwich bring’s a completely revamped Notification center. Now notification’s can be easily dismissed with a swipe in any direction and music controls have also been integrated.
