iOS 5, the latest mobile OS by Apple for its iDevice’s has taken the world by storm. With hundreds of new features and integration to iCloud, users all over the world are still in discovery mode with this relatively new OS. In this post we will show you some hidden features of iOS 5 which not many are aware of but also are very useful.
1. App Badge Icon Toggle
Have you ever wished to get rid of those App Badge Icon which are however of no use anyway. Well, in iOS 5 you can easily toggle App Badge Icon on or off. To toggle App Badge Icon just simply head to Settings —>> Notification –>> Select the App of which you want to toggle the badge —>> Badge Icon.
Very handy in dealing with App Badge Icon.
2. Custom Vibrations :
Now iOS 5 can create and use custom vibration’s as an alert for call’s and messages. First you will have to enable the use of custom vibrations, you can do that easily by going to Settings>General>Accessibility>Toggle “custom vibrations” on.
Now once the custom vibration has been enabled you can create your own Custom Vibration by going to Sounds>Vibration>Create new vibration. Just simply tap and create new vibration and save it, that’s it.
3. KeyBoard ShortCuts :
Do you constantly use a phrase or some words in your messages and other App’s. Typing those fixed phrases again and again can be troublesome so what if you can just that save that text and add it later on whenever you feel like.
You can create one KeyBoard Shortcut by going to Settings>Keyboard>Shortcuts and create a new one. Just assign a shortcut like . sign or signature and next time whenever you want to add that text just hit the shortcut.
4. Assistive Touch :
Have you ever wished to control everything just by touch and not to be in need of the buttons. While in Assistive Touch you can create and assign different functions to different touch gestures you make on screen.
To switch it on you just have to go to Settings>Genereal>Accessibility>Assistive Touch and toggle it on. Now you can lock your phone, volume controls, rotation controls, and even custom patterns using touch.
5. Easy Camera Roll access :
Accessing the Camera Roll has also been made easy in the new iOS 5. Now to access the Camera Roll just go to Camera App just swipe left and you will see that your recent pictures.
