Apple has finally raised curtains off the iCloud service as per the schedule. Apple had announced at Let’s Talk iPhone that iCloud and iOS 5 would be released to public today. With iTunes 10.5 going live earlier its now iCloud that has been made available to general public.
Apple has not made such a huge success with online service’s, take MobileMe as an example. With iCloud Apple is now hoping to create the same success story on online web ventures as it had done with iTunes. Now Apple lovers are worldwide waiting for the final release of the iOS 5 hence making the total software upgrade complete. However the final version of iTunes compatible with iTunes Match, the iTunes 10.5.1 Beta 1 will be available by October end.
iCloud service will help Apple device’s user’s to automatically upload their files on the Cloud and then push them automatically to maximum 10 Apple devices. So basic elements like contacts, calendars, bookmarks, reminders, notes, or to-do lists which you set up on any iDevice will be automatically available on other iDevices.
This services is going to be free for iOS 5 and OS X Lion users with a maximum limit of 5 GB. However for those storage crunching users there are more storage plans available at paid rates. The charges would be $20, $40 and $100 will get you 10GB, 20GB and 50GB extra storage respectively.
iCloud is finally the revolutionary technology which will make Hard-Disk based PC obsolete and would help people access files on the go. With iPad, iPhone and an Mac users can completely synchronize their preferences and files and hence giving the ultimate user satisfaction.
The iTunes Match service which would be available at October end would be available for a charge of $ 25 a year. Although the iTunes would be available for US only we can expect it to roll over later on for other countries by 2011 end.
