There are previously many other simulators which helped you run Android Apps on your Windows PC. BlueStacks is by far the one which we will recommend to our readers. The team behind BlueStacks had announced about the project in April and finally they have released the BlueStacks App Player (alpha) which as the name suggests is an Android App player for Windows PC.
It can run any Android App in full screen mode without any compatibility issues. Once you have downloaded and installed the App you will see a Gadget Icon on the top right corner of the screen. Clicking on that Gadget will lead to an Extended Tray which had hosts of Apps which are installed in Bluestacks.
From the BlueStacks Team :
With 56-percent of smartphone consumers purchasing an Android device in the last three months, it’s apparent that Android is rapidly becoming a preferred operating system. The BlueStacks App Player now gives users one-click access to their favorite Android apps right on their Windows PC. Both Windows and Android users stand to benefit greatly from this capability.
For application developers in the Android ecosystem, the BlueStacks App Player opens up a market of over a billion PC users. BlueStacks does not require any additional work on the part of developers and the apps run unmodified on the Windows PC.
You just have to click on the App fron the App Tray to run it and once lunched the App will start in the full screen mode.
You can install a maximum of 26 Apps in the Bluestacks excluding the 10 pre-loaded Apps. The limit does not exist in the Paid version but however the Paid version is not available yet.
You can either download and install the Apps using the Bluestacks Channel. To get to Bluestacks Channel just click on Get More Apps in the widget app tray. You will need to login using your Facebook Account but once done you can now choose and install an App by clicking Subscribe below it.
One of the most amazing feature of BlueStacks is that you can push the App’s installed on your Android device to your BlueStack’s on PC using Cloud services. You can Push Apps from Android Phone to PC using the Cloud Connect option. However you will first have to Install BlueStacks Cloud Connect app on your phone from the Android Market.
Once you Sync your PC and Android Phone by using the unique PIN generated by the BlueStacks App you can see the list of all Apps installed on your phone and install it on your phone too.
Speaking about performance and features, while the App is running in Full Screen mode you will have the options of Menu, Rotate, Zoom and All Apps buttons in the center with app navigation and close buttons at either side. As the name suggests clicking on All App’s will lead to the App Tray where you can access all the installed Apps. The Zoom button helps you toggle between Full Screen mode and Standard View mode.
BlueStacks is surely very impressive and is a very convenient solution to use Android Apps on Windows PC but there are still some features which we would expect the developers to add to it. Like the limit of maximum 26 Apps and no compatibility for multi-touch Apps.
With this App, developers can now write Apps not only for Android devices but also they can include the huge population of Windows users and Tablet users as their potential target. With billions of new users this can mean very big for the Android platform. Currently BlueStacks is not available for Mac Computers but the developers have promised to release that soon.
BlueStacks is a must have for all Android Developers and enthusiasts. It plays all the App’s and Games very smoothly with no issues.
