Project Spartan has been the ambitious project of Facebook to revolutionize the Facebook experience on the Mobile devices. While Facebook announced and released a revamped Mobile Page this April the company announced that it will be working on a Project to develop HTML 5 based client for mobile devices instead of creating individual clients for various platforms.
Facebook will announce the platform within few weeks and before the official announce it seems that TechCrunch has managed to grab some pictures and have also published it on their site.
So what is Project Spartan ?
Project Spartan is a completely new platform for Facebook based on HTML 5. It is aimed for the mobile users and is expected to reach more than 100 million Facebook users. Instead of making a native application and distributing it through App Store Facebook is aiming the mobile internet browser Mobile Safari. Particularly the only reason could be that it is the only domain where Facebook can have more control over Apple.
With about 800 million subscribers and still rising Facebook can form a formidable challenge for Apple. A team of nearly 80 third party developers have been working on this project. The team has been working on bringing a huge range of functions like games and news reading Apps.
With this promising new platform being available within few weeks Facebook users can expect alot more in store (yet again).
