Flickr the image sharing service provided by Yahoo ! had released the official App for the iOS almost a couple of years ago but the Android alternative was not yet available. Now considering this huge delay Flickr has finally released the official App for Android and all we can say that it is worth the wait as the App provides a very easy and a convenient method to Capture, Share and Edit your photos online.
You can now access your Flickr account from your Android device using your Yahoo!, Facebook or Gmail ID and you still do not have an account you can make one directly from the App. Once you login you will be provided with a variety of Options like Activity, Contacts, You and Camera.
The Activity screen will show you all your activity and updates in the Flickr world. Pictures uploaded by you and comments from your friends can be directly accessed in this section. If you still do not have any pictures uploaded in Flickr you will be prompted to upload one from your storage or your camera by hitting the Take A Picture Now button.
Once you have the picture, give it a Title and some details and also add a filter. The Filters are also based on the name of the cities. Tap Next and add any other Social Networking/ Mail Client of yours with your login details. Now hit the Upload button and you have joined the world of Flickr.
Flickr also has its native Camera App with a variety of Options to edit your picture. The native Camera has :
- Enable/Disable Flash.
- Importing an Image from your device Gallery.
- Setting Aspect Ratio for picture.
- Go to your Flickr Gallery.
- Add description and Tags.
- Also toggle the options to make it Public or Private.
The You tab has all your Flickr shares and Favourites. The Contacts Tab has all the Flickr share from your friends. If you still do not have one you can directly add one by hitting the Find your friends now!
Flickr has the ability to be your ultimate photo editing/sharing/filtering App. Flickr not only introduces you to a new plethora of Image sharing but also its also a service used by more than 60 million users worldwide.
Many Android users would be abit dissappointed as the real-time Photo Session facility which is available in the official iOS App is not yet available in the Android alternative. Apart from that this App is a serious threat to all other image sharing Apps.
Flickr is available for free in the Android Market. Click here to download it.
