Google has released an update for its Nexus One smartphone. Now Google Nexus One users can update to Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread Build: GRK39F. In this Tutorial we will show you a detailed step by step tutorial on how to get this update.
Google is still rolling out updates for its Nexus One smartphone. The latest update 2.3.6 Gingerbread Build: GRK39F is a security and performance update. It enhances the overall features of the Nexus One. Users will be notified automatically and prompted to install the update as it is OTA. For those users who cant wait for that, can install this update right away.
Step 1: Download Android 2.3.6 Gingebread (GRK39F). [Direct Download]
Step 2: Once you have the file rename it to Update.zip.
Step 3: Now you have to connect your Nexus One device to the computer and transfer it to the root of your microSD card. Make sure that the zip file is not under any folder.
Step 4: Switch off your Nexus One.
Step 5 : Now press and hold the Volume Down button and switch on your Nexus One. Scroll down to recovery and press the Power/Lock button.
Step 6 : Once you see a triangle with exclamation mark hit the Power + Volume Down button.
Step 7 : In the menu select sdcard:update.zip. Your Nexus One will now install the update.
Step 8 : Once the Install is complete reboot your Nexus One.
Thats it !! Your Nexus One should be updated to the latest build now. However just to be sure you can check your version by going to Settings > About phone and check under Android version and Build number.
