When it comes to blog if Content is the King than SEO can easily be declared as the Queen. Concentrating only on the quality and quantity of the content in extremely important but it is useless as long as you don’t get a good Google Page Rank for it. Of course focusing on the content is crucial but there also some important points which you should focus on Keywords to make your Post SEO friendly and so that search engines gives the right value to your post, considering that they are the major source of traffic for your Blog.
In this Post I will tell how to place and deal with Keywords to get maximum SEO for the post. As we know SEO depends on two things i.e. Back-links and Keywords, If you follow these steps you should get some pretty good SEO for the Keywords at least. As a requirement I am considering that you have downloaded and Installed All-In-One SEO Pack for your WordPress Blog. Although WordPress was made in such a way that it is already SEO optimized but this plugin works as an overall manager and does all the job for you.
Before we go ahead I would like to describe you how Google gives weight-age by checking a Keyword.
- Google checks the keyword In your Content.
- Than in the Topic.
- Than in URL
- Lastly in your Domain name.
Now if the Keyword is present in all the four things than your post will generate maximum impact in Google and hence getting better ranking. If the Keyword is not present in any one of the factor than your weight age gets reduced accordingly.
1. SEO Title :
Now this very important when you want to give more weight-age to your blog post. You should assure that your SEO Title is having the Keyword (It would be even better if it began with it.)
One thing that you should notice is that the Post Title and the SEO Title are completely two different things. Your Post Title is the Title your post has on your Blog whereas the SEO title is the title that will come up in the Search results in Google. So do give a short and impactful SEO title as Google and most search engines have about 60 characters maximum limit, whereas in your blog you can keep it long so that it explains the theme of the post.
2. Post Description and Keywords :
The Post Description is crucially important as this will show up below the Title of the result in the Search Index. As maximum search engines allow up to 160 characters of description keep it short and simple and within one line try to explain the users what this Post is all about to convince them to click on the link.
Keywords are also important as they generate what all the content is all about and to classify your post.
3. Your Post URL :
Most Search Engines as well as Google gives extra weight if the keyword is also present in the URL of your blog-post. This may be known to most of the bloggers so instead of the short permalink they have the format of using the Posts Title in the permalink. But in the attempt of that they forget to consider the entire concept of Google Stop Words.
Google Stop Words are certain words which do not have logical impact on the topic of the post and are completely neglected by Google in their Search Indexing. Words like “A, TO,AN, IN, OF” are some example of Google Stop Words. So instead of giving the title How To Write An SEO Friendly Blog Post With Keywords in the URL, I will delete certain words like “TO, AN,WITH,IN” and will put How Write SEO Friendly Blog Post Keywords to generate maximum impact.

So next time when you write a Post do not forget to edit the link and optimize it with SEO perspective.
4. Intra-Linking :
This is a very crucial step when you want to Increase your Page Rank. Page Rank is actually a scale of minimum 0 and maximum 10 describing the level of importance Google gives to your website. A Page Rank of 0 defines that your website is having the least importance and will show way below in the search results and a Page Rank of 10 will show that your website is most important and will show above in the search results.
Google gives PR (Page Rank) considering two things : The age of the link and The backlinks it has in the Internet pointing towards the post. While you have no control over time but you can increase back-links by linking to other older pages which have similar content, keywords or have the same theme.
5. Image Optimization :
This is the most imp step which is often ignored by Bloggers. Whenever you create a blog post along with the text Google also indexes the images and categorizes them on the basis of the Alternate Text you provide. So next time whenever you insert any image do not forget to enter the Alternate Text to generate enough resources from the images also.
6. Proper Formatting :
Along with the presence of the Keyword search engines also check how the Keyword is present in the content. So if the Keyword is in Bold Italics or Underlined format than it will be given much more value and importance. Also placing the Keyword in the first and last paragraph is also important.
7. Concentrate on Quality of Keywords and not Quantity :
Do not enter a Post and try to Spam it with all the Keywords you can think of. This will divide the value it has generated on each keyword so instead of appearing on the top position for one query your post will appear way below for different queries and hence decreasing the click rate.
Do enter the Keyword in Bold, Italics or Underlined in the beginning and ending of your post and also mention it in the SEO Keywords and Description.
If you follow all the points while writing a post for your blog than you will be hopefully successful in creating a blog post which is extremely optimized and SEO Friendly. Very crucial if you want to drive traffic to your Blog.
