SSH (Secure Shell) facilitates exchange of data between two devices connected through a Secure Channel. By using SSH you can easily send and receive files between your Computer and your iPhone. Its like an ultimate File manger which gives you complete rights to read or write any data into your iPhone Hard Drive.
This really helps you to install Apps that are not present in the App store. You can even use your iPhone as a portable Hard Drive. All you would need is some Apps and a Wi-Fi network to which your iPhone and Computer both are connected.
To set a SSH connection between your iPhone and Computer just follow this simple tutorial :
Step 2: Find and Install OpenSSH in Cydia in your Jailbroken device.
Step 3: On your computer launch Cyberduck and click on Open Connection.
Step 4: In the Server field enter your iPhones I.P Address. To get the I.P address of your iPhone go to Settings—->> Wi-Fi —–>>> Tap on the blue Arrow right next to the Wireless Network. It will show your iPhones I.P Address.
Step 5: Select SFTP from the drop-down menu after you have entered the I.P Address.
Step 6: Enter Username as Root and Password as Alpine.
Step 7: If you get a message Unknown Host, ignore it and click on Allow.
Thats it !! The first connection will take some time but when you are through you will be able to see all the files under the iOS software.
Note : This tweak will expose all iOS system files so dont delete any file which you are not certain of or your device will stop working.
This is a Jailbreak tool so you will have to jailbreak your device first. To Jailbreak your device using JailbreakMe click here. To follow our step by step tutorial to jailbreak by RedsnOw click here.
