There are many Jailbreak Apps which add speedometer and compass to your iPhone Maps individually. These are a very handy tools for bikers and for those people who love to go regularly on hikes and are of constant need of a better navigation software. Alot of those Apps are very popular and efficient and the native Maps App that comes with iOS is very powerful itself but they do not perform all of these functions together and for each parameter have to use different Apps. With Dashboard For Maps you can add Compass, Elevation and Speedometer to Maps App making it complete.
Dashboard for Maps doesn’t add any icon in the home screen but it beautifully integrates with the native Maps App and it displays a dashboard on the screen as shown in the screen shot below which indicates your speed, direction and also your elevation.
The dashboard changes in real-time and shows a pretty good description of your movement. You can also hide the dashboard by going to Options tab located at the bottom right corner of the screen and click on Hide Dashboard. There are also many options present to tweak the looks your dashboard. You can set the transparency, switch between analouge or digital interface and also change the unit system for those who are not that comfortable with the U.S metric system.
